New Defender Joins FC Midtjylland
FC Midtjylland has signed 29-year-old defender Magnus Jensen from Sønderjyske in a major transfer deal.
Jensen has agreed a contract until summer 2029 and will wear the number 3 jersey for the club.
'He is physically strong, very good in the air and has shown over several seasons that he is a factor on offensive dead balls,' says sports director Kristian Bach to fcm.dk.
Sønderjyske Strengthen with Icelandic Midfielder
Jensen will replace a player who was part of the team's leadership group at Sønderjyske.
The club has also confirmed the signing of 26-year-old midfielder Brynjar Ingi Bjarnason from Greuther Fürth.
Bjarnason has previously played for Italian Lecce and Norwegian clubs Vålerenga and HamKam, and has also appeared 17 times for the Icelandic national team.
'I know both Daniel Gretarsson and Runar Sigurgeirsson from the national team, and I know several of the players who have been here before – including Kristall Ingason and Sölvi Ottesen. I'm excited to be part of it,' says Bjarnason to the club's website.
A Major Transfer Deal for Sønderjyske
The transfer was confirmed by Sønderjyske, who also announced that they have signed 29-year-old defender Magnus Jensen from FCM in a deal worth around 13 million kroner.
'I've always had an ambition to join a club where we play for titles and European football,' says Jensen to fcm.dk.
'I feel that I've played my way into the opportunity, and it means a lot to me that it's now with FC Midtjylland.'
